One frequent topic of conversation at lunch with fellow geeks is how awesome it would be to have 23rd century gadgets in our 21st century world. We’re not that far in the past, are we? Fewer than 200 years to go! We watch our Trek and we drool over the gadgets and gizmos and wish we could have them.

…and then, our wish came true! Several cases of the wall communicator panels from The Original Series appeared in our warehouse. Whether it’s a bloodthirsty Klingon bent on revenge or just your boss looking for your TPS report, you’ll know the moment they appear.

Star Trek Door Chime Received before last estimate date. Works great as night alarm system. Since I sleep upstairs – I set it when I go to bed and will go off with setting of “Red Alert” klaxon to warn me should anyone break in downstairs. With the simple movement of button switch I can set it to doors opening “whoosh” sound effect as heard on Star Trek. Neat sound effects and looks. It looks like an expensive intercom system.Entertainment Earths mail order catalog listed this at $349.99 in their Holiday Gift Preview catalog in 2010. They do mention theirs having an accurate grill cloth that this one does not have, along with a display stand. Savings over $300.00.

Geeky fun I love this door chime! It’s so much fun. I especially like that it can sense motion on either side of the device. And it has two different sound levels, which is nice. And if I want to silence it all I have to do is move the switch to the middle.
